The Fourth

Privacy Policy

Our Commitment to You

The Fourth is built to support new mothers and their villages during the postpartum period. We understand that the information shared here — about recovery, mental health, and family logistics — is deeply personal. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have.

By using The Fourth, you agree to the practices described below.

Information We Collect

Account information. When you create an account, we store your name, email address, and assigned role (for example, mom, partner, supporter, or provider).

Postpartum wellness data. If you complete a daily check-in, we store the details you provide — mood, pain level, energy, sleep, feeding method, bleeding, and any notes. This helps you and your care team track recovery over time.

Support page details. Organizers and moms share information to coordinate help, which may include the mother's name, baby due date or birth date, city or zip code, food allergies and preferences, visitor guidelines, and drop-off instructions.

Community content. Posts and replies you create in the community feed, including whether you chose to post anonymously. Even when anonymous, your contribution is linked to your account for moderation purposes.

Contribution and booking records. When you contribute to a Fourth Fund, claim a meal, or request a provider booking, we store the details of that action (amount, contributor name, message, dates, and status).

Provider information. Providers who join our directory share their business name, services, credentials, location, contact details, and availability.

Payment Information

Payments — including Fourth Fund contributions — are processed through Base44 Payments. We do not collect, store, or see your full card number. Base44 Payments receives your payment details directly and provides us with a confirmation and a transaction record. See the Base44 Payments terms for how your payment data is handled.

The Fourth Fund funds real-world goods and services (meals, self-care, baby essentials, appointments, and similar). It is not used to unlock digital content or app features.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information you share to:

  • Coordinate meals, gifts, and support for families.
  • Track postpartum recovery and surface relevant care resources.
  • Connect supporters with trusted local providers.
  • Process Fourth Fund contributions and redemptions.
  • Facilitate community connection and conversation.
  • Send service-related emails, such as check-in reminders.
  • Maintain the safety and integrity of the platform.

How We Share Your Information

Within your support circle. Information you add to a support page — such as meal preferences, visit guidelines, and contributions — is visible to the people you invite to that page. You can choose whether a support page is private.

With providers. Booking requests and any messages you send are shared with the relevant provider so they can assist you.

Service partners. We use trusted partners to power parts of the experience, including payment processing (Base44 Payments), delivery and affiliate services (such as Instacart, DoorDash, and Amazon), and optional calendar syncing (Google Calendar). These partners receive only the information needed to provide their service.

Legal and safety. We may disclose information when required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or property of our users and others.

Affiliate Links

The Fourth may include affiliate links to recommended products and services (for example, groceries, pharmacy, baby gear, and self-care items). When you use these links, the affiliate partner may set cookies and receive information about your visit. Your use of those partners' services is governed by their own privacy policies.

Data Retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. Records of contributions, bookings, and check-ins may be retained to maintain accurate histories for families and providers, even after an account is closed, unless you request deletion.

Your Choices and Rights

Access and update. You can view and update your information within the app at any time.

Delete your account. You can delete your account from the Dashboard settings. This removes your profile and personal information from the app.

Opt out of reminders. You can adjust or turn off check-in reminders in your tracker settings, and you can unsubscribe from emails at any time.

Disconnect integrations. You can disconnect linked services, such as Google Calendar, at any time from your settings.

Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information using industry-standard practices. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your data and limit access to those who need it to operate the service.

Children's Privacy

The Fourth is intended for adults — new mothers, their families, supporters, and care providers. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll revise the "Last updated" date above. We encourage you to review it periodically.
